In the Kumamoto earthquake that occurred in Apr. 2016, landslides and sand flowed into tunnels and railway bridges over a distance of approximately 250 meters.
The damage was so severe that the entire line was temporarily suspended,
The entire line resumed operation on Jul. 15, 2023. This course includes a full ride on the entire line.
* Minami-Aso Railway operations may be suspended or delayed due to bad weather or other reasons on the day.

Travel by taxi or other means! We will guide you to the Manai Falls area without walking.

This gorge, with its high cliffs stretching for 7km, is designated as a national scenic spot and natural monument.
