[Autumn] Enjoy the spectacular early autumn foliage
The autumn leaves on Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route are the earliest in Japan, along with those on Mount Daisetsu in Hokkaido, and usually start changing from mid-September around Tateyama Murododaira! With an elevation difference of 1,975m from the summit to the base, you can enjoy autumn leaves at different times in various locations. This is the second most popular season after Snow Wall!
◆Best spots for viewing autumn leaves: Between Bijodaira, Midagahara and Murodo
On this course, you can view the sights from inside a chartered sightseeing bus to Murodo!

What to wear and what to bring on Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route
Large luggage can be carried on the tour bus.
The same tourist bus will take you from Tateyama Station to Ogizawa Station. You can leave Accommodation large luggage on the bus.
However, since you will not be able to return to retrieve your luggage while passing through the Alpine Route, please make sure to pack any baggage you will need during your walk (valuables, rain gear, cold weather clothing, etc.) as small as possible and bring it with you as carry-on baggage.

◆ Eiheiji Temple, the head temple of the Soto sect
This is the head temple of the Soto sect of Buddhism, boasting a history of around 770 years. It was originally a training center for monks who practiced Zen, founded by Zen Master Dogen in 1244. Even now, more than 770 years later, the training at Eiheiji is said to be the most rigorous in Zen Buddhism, with around 160 unsui monks living there.

◆Tojinbo
This is a scenic spot with a series of cliffs roughly cut by wave erosion. It stretches for about 1km along the coastline of Mikuni Town, Fukui Prefecture. It is said that there are only three places in the world, including Tojinbo, where the geologically rare rock formations known as "pyroxene andesite columnar joints" can be found, and they have been designated a national natural monument.
