◆◇What are the "Jomon ruins of Hokkaido and northern Tohoku"?◇◆

The Jomon Sites of Hokkaido and Northern Tohoku are made up of a total of 17 sites, including six Hokkaido, six in Aomori, one in Iwate, and two Akita, where Japan's unique culture, the Jomon culture, flourished. The value of the lives of the people who settled there through gathering, fishing, and hunting, which continued for over 10,000 years from about 15,000 years ago, and the unique spiritual culture seen in the clay figurines, was recognized and the site was registered as a World Heritage Site.
