Located on the border between the Tsugaru and Nanbu clans, this hot spring has been flowing naturally for about 300 years.
It is said to have been discovered by a lumberjack, and was once a popular hot spring resort.
Currently, it is used as a base for sightseeing around the Shimokita Peninsula and Towada by tourists from both within and outside the prefecture.
