Nagasaki Lantern Festival 2026, a major winter event

The city center is illuminated with the fantastic lights of approximately 15,000 lanterns (Chinese lanterns) and various other objects.
It began as a Chinese New Year festival celebrating the Chinese New Year, and has now become known as a winter tradition in Nagasaki.
