Karatsu Shrine's Autumn Festival"Karatsu-kunchi"(3rd day)

This is Karatsu Shrine's annual autumn festival, held on Nov. 2nd, 3rd, and 4th every year, and is Karatsu's largest event.
It is registered as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan and a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
"Kunchi" can also be written as "Kunchi" and is a festival that expresses gratitude for the harvest.

The highlight is the 14 floats, the largest of which is 6.8m tall and weighs up to 3t.
The giant "floats" are pulled by the floats to the accompaniment of flutes, drums, and golden music.
Enjoy watching the procession through the old castle town accompanied by chants of "Enya, Enya" and "Yoisa, Yoisa."
