This sacred land in the Seto Inland Sea has been the site of much Heian culture since Taira no Kiyomori became the governor of Aki.
Its many historical buildings attract many visitors.
The World Heritage Site, Itsukushima Shrine [first offering fee included], is one of Japan's most famous shrines, known for its architectural beauty.
