奄美大島が誇る日本を代表する絹織物、本場奄美大島紬の製造工程が見学できます。

◎黒糖焼酎工場

奄美大島の焼酎と言えば黒糖焼酎。1953年に酒税法の特例措置を受け、奄美群島にだけ製造が認められている焼酎です。

黒糖焼酎は黒糖が原料なのに、蒸留酒という特性から、甘みを残しつつも、糖分ゼロで低カロリー！

工場見学は試飲もできて、黒糖焼酎作りの熱い思いも感じられます。

◎奄美自然観察の森

眺望が素晴らしい広大な森林公園。

奄美群島国立公園第1種特別地域にも指定されており、自然を生かした広い園内には遊歩道が整備され、奄美固有の植物や野鳥、昆虫などを観察しながら散策できます。

奄美野生生物保護センターは、奄美群島の生きものや自然を保護するために設置された環境省の施設です。
