What is the Jidai Matsuri?
This is one of Kyoto three major festivals, which began in the Meiji era to celebrate the founding of the shrine and the transfer of the capital to Heian.
A grand historical picture scroll stretching from the Meiji Restoration to the Heian period unfolds from Kyoto Imperial Palace to Heian Shrine.
*If the Jidai Matsuri is canceled due to a request from the national or local government prior to departure, the tour will also be canceled.
*If the tour is postponed to October 23rd due to rain, the itinerary will be changed. (In that case, meal conditions and departure time from the accommodation may change.)
*Umbrellas and tripods are not permitted in the spectator seats.
②Kurama Fire Festival
What is the Kurama Fire Festival?
The annual festival of Yuki Shrine is held on Oct. 22nd every year. The sight of the village of Kurama being filled with the flames of blazing torches, accompanied by the brave voices of "Saireya, Sairyo", is spectacular.
